Bridging the gap between garage prototypes and industrial-scale manufacturing.
Behind the Site
My journey into optical metrology began when a budget photogrammetry rig produced warped point clouds that made CAD reverse engineering impossible. Community forums recommended 'just take more photos' without any understanding of focal lens distortion, principal point calibration, or optical triangulation geometry.
That gap between casual 3D scanning and true dimensional metrology drove me to master structured light projection, laser triangulation, and non-rigid iterative closest point (ICP) registration. I wanted to understand how surface reflectivity and optical wavelengths dictate sub-millimeter deviation.
Real Industrial Experience
Over the years, I've digitized industrial tooling, machined castings, and complex organic geometries into CAD-native STEP models. I don't just capture point clouds; I calibrate optical noise, audit volumetric deviation against certified ball bars, and reconstruct parametric surface patches in Geomagic Design X.
At ScanForge, I bring that metrology standard to reverse engineers, product designers, and fabrication specialists. Whether you're choosing between blue light and infrared structured light or aligning point clouds for inspection, my goal is to provide verified accuracy benchmarks instead of marketing hype.
Precision First
Every scanning guide is backed by volumetric length verification and NIST-traceable ball bar audits.
Technical Integrity
No fluff, no sponsored bias. If a scanner introduces point cloud noise or drops registration, you'll see the autopsy.
Pro Standards
Applying ISO metrology standards, optical triangulation physics, and CAD inspection principles to every benchmark.
The Arsenal: Lab Hardware

Why Trust This Source?
The ScanForge engineering archive is built on empirical testing, verified physics, and transparent hardware benchmarking. We believe documentation is an engineering discipline. Every guide, calculator, and parameter blueprint is validated before publication.
I founded this portal to give reverse engineers, metrologists, and CAD designers the high-fidelity digitizing benchmarks they need to produce inspection-grade geometry.
Collaboration & Inquiries
I am open to technical consultations, industrial machine testing, and professional collaborations that align with our high-fidelity standards.
